Chambers of commerce and industry of RCEP member states carry out matchmaking

On June 30, the "Symposium on Enhancing Industry Cooperation among RCEP Countries" was held. Xu Ningning, executive president of the China-ASEAN Business Council and chairman of the RCEP Industry Cooperation Committee, suggested that the chambers of commerce and industry of RCEP member states should actively cooperate and formulate action plans to jointly promote the opening of regional markets.

At the meeting, Xu Ningning briefly analyzed the current situation of RCEP construction. In recent months, some provinces and cities in China have successively formulated and started to implement RCEP action plans. For example, the Shandong Provincial Government issued the "Preliminary Action Plan for the Implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement" (RCEP), and Fujian Province proposed the "Fujian The province fully integrated the "Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement" (RCEP) Action Plan, Chongqing City issued the "Deepening Economic and Trade Cooperation with ASEAN Action Plan (2021-2025)", and Yunnan issued and implemented the "China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone" Participate in the "Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement" (RCEP) Action Plan, etc. Some provinces and cities have held business opportunity promotion meetings, economic and trade fairs, and cooperation seminars with the theme of seizing RCEP opportunities. For example, the China-ASEAN Business Council and Guangzhou and Guiyang respectively held "RCEP and Guangzhou Development Roundtables". , "RCEP Opening Opportunities (Guiyang) Seminar", the Xinjiang Department of Commerce hosted the China Xinjiang-All Regional Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) Member States Economic and Trade Cooperation Cloud Matchmaking Conference, etc. These all reflect the expansion of the opening up of provinces and cities and the "double Active actions to implement external recycling in the development of "recycling" economy.

Xu Ningning said that in recent months, he has been invited to visit Zhejiang, Shandong, Shanxi, Guangxi and other places. During the meetings and conversations with the leaders of relevant provinces and cities, he felt that the localities are optimistic about the new opportunities brought by the opening of RCEP, and the positive desire of RCEP member countries for economic and trade cooperation. He said that, in general, local governments are more aware and quick to seize RCEP opportunities than national industrial organizations. He suggested that China’s major industry associations should actively connect with chambers of commerce and industry in other member states of RCEP and formulate action plans to promote regional industrial cooperation, provide enterprises with better information, channels, consulting and other services, and help industry enterprises in the industry. The RCEP regional open market will make a good business layout in advance.

In February last year, the China-ASEAN Business Council took the lead in issuing the "China-ASEAN Business Community Initiative on the Prevention and Control of the COVID-19 pandemic" with 80 relevant national chambers of commerce and industry in China and ASEAN countries. In February of this year, the China-ASEAN Business Council took the lead in issuing the "China Business Community Initiative on Jointly Promoting RCEP Regional Business Cooperation" with 75 national industry associations and relevant industry cooperation committees. The representatives of the national trade associations attending the symposium participated in the joint launch of the above-mentioned initiatives. In their speeches, they fully affirmed the issuance of these two initiatives and commented that the two initiatives reflect the promotion of the Chinese trade associations and the ASEAN and other RCEP member states have a positive desire to cooperate, and expressed the hope to further develop foreign cooperation through the channels of the China-ASEAN Business Council Dialogue Cooperation Mechanism and the RCEP Industry Cooperation Committee, including cooperation with RCEP-related national industry associations and upstream and downstream industry associations.

At the meeting, Qin Zhanxue, President of China Building Materials Circulation Association, Hong Xianguo, Executive Vice President of China Agricultural Machinery Industry Association, Wang Jisheng, Vice President and Secretary-General of China Heavy Machinery Industry Association, Wang Zhanjie, Vice President and Secretary-General of China Plastics Processing Industry Association. They said that this symposium is just convened at the right time. RCEP has great potential for regional industrial cooperation. As a national industry business association, it will play a functional role, do a good job in cooperation with RCEP countries, and make their own contributions to regional economic recovery and growth.

Participants analyzed the industrial cooperation between China and other RCEP countries, discussed the new development of investment and trade through industrial cooperation, and agreed that the strengthening of industrial cooperation by RCEP countries is an important measure for jointly coping with the instability of the world economy and realizing regional cooperation and development.
